Congratulations to 2012 All-State Band Members
The following members of the Wylie "Pure Gold" Band earned positions in the 2012 All-State Band.
These four students progressed through region and area auditions to earn this honor. The process
starts with over 9,000 students at the the region level from across the state. They will perform a concert on Saturday, February 11th in San Antonio with the All-State Band. Having four students earn All State Honors is a record for Wylie High School. Congratulations!

Austin Martinez earned a position in the all state jazz band on Trombone earlier in the year.

School Board Recognition Month
January 2012 is School Board Recognition Month—a great time to focus on the crucial role an elected board of trustees plays in our communities and schools. We appreciate our Wylie I.S.D. School Board Members and their dedication and hard work! They are extraordinary people who voluntarily tackle the enormous job of governing our school district. Their actions and decisions affect the present and future lives of our children! Thank you, Ray Templeton, Terry Merck, Don Poindexter, Steve Keenum, Becky Rentz, Darrell Moore, and Jeff Rogers! We appreciate you and your service to Wylie I.S.D.!
Wylie I.S.D. Gets Fit Grant
Wylie I.S.D. is one of 76 schools/agencies in the nation awarded a U.S. Department of Education grant. A total of 300 entities applied for the Carol M. White Physical Education Grant for 2012 – 2014. Wylie I.S.D. will improve physical education and nutrition curricula with The Carol M. White Physical Education Program Grant. Wylie I.S.D. will receive $756,733 for the first year and is expected to receive $119,190 for the next two years. (More Grant Information)
